Grim - am down with the flu - runny nose, sore throat, achy all over. Real bummer as I was just getting back on track after last week's wrist sprain. Not pleased in the slightest that I can't do my exercises - hope it's not going to set me back too much. All in, I've probably lapsed abt 7 days in total now...yikes!
But staying faithful to the diet though, well as much as I possibly can. Still find it tough to scarf down the before-bed vege snack. Am giving it a miss every other night. Again, my bad.
So with 49 days to go, I know I have to or rather, I would really like to give it my all once this latest set-back is done. There, it's in print now so got to be done.
Incidentally, I haven't stooped to any indulgence just yet - that has got to count for something, no?

Day 39, 40 - Starvin
Tapping this out in bed, tummy growling. Am very tempted to raid the fridge but I know we've only got vegetables and fruit in there so not going to bother. I'm definitely missing the protein this week and measly egg whites just don't cut it...is it really a no no to substitute a bit of beef or chicken for the evening's egg white?? Feeling decidedly grumpy now...
On the subject of egg whites - dinner time yesterday and hubby pipes up that he prefers his hard boiled eggs hot instead of ice cold from the fridge. I go " you can't microwave hard boiled eggs, they'll explode". 2 mins later, our helper puts hubby's plate in front of us and POOF, this almighty explosion sprays egg shrapnel all over us and the living room - every inch of the coffee table, carpet and ceiling is covered in desiccated egg bits. See that is what you get when you don't listen to the missus.
Quote of the evening - "now we know".
Yoghurt - am finding it impossible to find organic low fat plain yoghurt in Hong Kong. Have only seen the fat free variety and they are rubbish. Like eating sour glue paste...urgh. Anyone having better luck out there?
Ok, so I'm largely only griping about the food aspect of things. The exercise half of the equation has been pretty good now that the wrist is almost back on track.
Decided to heed Patrick's email abt skipping in the morning to maximize the fat burn so groggily pushed through the jumps first thing today. Def not a convert yet - way way too harsh to start the day I say.
But I can report that the skipping has improved tremendously. Inspired by hubby's 600 a pop feat in Seoul this week, I managed to crank out 720 at a go yesterday, so did 300, 400 and 720 to complete yesterday's set...felt pretty pleased with myself after that, if I may say so!
Didn't quite manage 700 at a go today but 550 is not too shabby, no?
And the numbers for this week's weigh in - 50.3kg, 20.1% body fat. Think I started out with abt 28% body fat so a good result certainly.
Ok, enough of this... lights out time...night all.

Day 38 - Am Back!
Have been silent because I've pretty much had to sit out this PCP when I sprained my wrist last Fri - a very bad, almost tore ligament one. Wish I could say it was from a serious workout but nope, was grappling with a runaway baby stroller. The 20 pounder was in it so wasn't pretty.
Must confess, was a tad delighted at first - "good news, er, I mean bad news Patrick, sprained the wrist badly, looks like I can't do any skipping or use resistance bands for a while - bummer".
Patrick's advice was to do 30min of brisk walking and whatever I could muster pain free. So I did a couple of slow runs over the weekend- ok, 2 slow runs. Really couldn't do the bands at all and skipping was out. By Mon, I gave the exercises a wide berth - just couldn't be asked really.
But today with the wrist feeling almost 90%, and guilt running high at abt 200%, decided to tackle the day's workout. Did the skips (1600 to make up for the last few days - felt great!), legs and abs. Grappling with the bands still felt a bit off so didn't push it.
So long story short, I've not been entirely compliant on the exercise front and it has not been great. It's astonishing how slow and lethargic I've been in the last few days and I think it's entirely due to me slacking on the exercise front ( or it could be the less than invigorating diet we're on!). Absolutely remarkable how the last 30 days have somewhat reengineered my system - who would have thought I would miss exercising! So am back folks!
~ hmm, this slacking and then coming round seems to be a recurring theme on my blog...
